What does it mean to end and do we need beginnings, or is all an ongoing-Perpetuummobile-Process-Moebiusstrip? In the beginning of our journey we asked ourselves what do we want to be when we are grown up? We are not yet at the end of the journey – but for sure we want our coffins to be coverd with diamonds.
Put on your dancing shoes and dress to impress for our finale, where there can be music and moonlight and dancing and romance.

The diamond paradise keeps shining with another great event. After the success of the Peter Kahn exhibition our community will present a new research. Nine Art art students set out on a journey to uncover their hidden talents.
We start with:
exhibition of our living space (turned into a gallery, changing configuration every three days)
projection of the diamond factory’s history from the moment we moved in
after comes:
small talk with 3 or more specialists about talent, genius, skill, ability, dexterity and so on..
open practice from the research on the learning assignments
music band created through practice on the task how to listen to the other, each other, someone who disgust you
and soon…

Invitation Diamond Path
Tuesday June 1st from 18h to 22h:
“DISTORTION evening”
A distortion is the alteration of the original shape of an object, image, sound or any kind of material. (Jacques Ranciere)
Throughout this first week of learning, our interest has moved onto distortion. What does it mean to distort your private life into an art piece? We like to consider ourselves as practitioners of distortion.
Peter Kahn (visual art) is artist in residence in le musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon. He will exhibit his work at the Diamant Slijperij, Amsterdam under the title: Why do you distort me?
On Tuesday’s opening there will also be presented scores from John Cage plus an ongoing research of simultaneity and distortion. Is it possible to talk, listen, dance in the same time?
Diamond Path is a 2 weeks residency: 9 art students moved out of their home into the Diamond Culture House for an intense 24hours learning experience.
